Facts That Matter.
Currently there are over one billion people worldwide facing each new day with chronic hunger. Seventy-five percent of those are children.
The United Nations’ World Food Program, has determined there to be approximately 82 million people who are at dangerous levels of hunger, famine, or malnutrition. In fact, it would take close to 5 million metric tonnes of food per year to meet their most basic needs.
People don’t choose to be hungry.

War, natural disaster, political unrest, sanctions, economic collapse and criminal activity are all factors contributing to their need for assistance.
Together we can make a difference.
Given the enormity of the problem, most people are simply overwhelmed. Yet, with the combination of donation tax benefits, the careful selection of balanced and nutritional foods and the commitment of respected charities and non government organizations (NGO's), Canadians can make a difference. |
